Sing Joy to the World in Spanish

Sing Joy to the World in Spanish For a joyful lift to your holidays, heres a Spanish-language version of Joy to the World, the classic Christmas carol. The hymn was originally written in English by Isaac Watts. A literal translation and translation notes are provided for Spanish students. Regocijad! Jess naci  ¡Regocijad! ¡Glorias a Dios cantemos hoy! Seà ±or de Israel,la libertad tà º le dars y tà º sers su Dios,y tà º sers su Dios, Seà ±or, y tà º sers su Dios. Translation of Spanish Lyrics Rejoice! Jesus was born, Savior of the world;and each heart turn to receive the King,to receive the King. Come to receive the King. Rejoice! He will reign; let us sing in unison;and in the the land and in the sea praise will echo, praise will echo, and great praise will echo. The evil now is conquered; the earth will have peace. The Saviors blessing removed the curse, removed the curse. Jesus removed the curse. Today we sing glories to God! Lord of Israel,You will give her liberty and You will be her God,and You will be her God, Lord, and You will be her God. Grammar and Vocabulary Notes Regocijad: This is the familiar second-person plural imperative form (the vosotros form) of regocijar, which means to rejoice. It isnt a particularly common verb. In everyday conversation, youre unlikely to hear familiar plural imperative forms of verbs much outside of Spain, as in Latin American the formal you (ustedes) is used even in informal contexts. Nacià ³: This is the third-person plural preterite of nacer, which has no one-word equivalent in English, meaning to be born. Nacer is conjugated the same way as conocer. Del mundo Salvador: In everyday speech or writing, youd be much more likely to say Salvador del mundo for Savior of the world. In music, however, theres considerably more latitude with word order to get the desired rhythm. Tornad: Like regocijad, this is a plural-you command. Tornar typically means to convert or to turn into, and it is used most frequently in a religious context. As you may have noticed, the vosotros imperative form of the verb is made simply by changing the final r of the infinitive to a d. And this is always true - there are no irregular verbs for this form. Al: Al is one of only two contractions in Spanish, shortening a and el. The a here is the personal a, used because the direct object is el Rey, a person. (The other contraction is del, for de and el.) Venid: From the verb venir. Cantemos: From the verb cantar (to sing). This is the first-personal plural imperative form. En unià ³n: Although this phrase could be translated as in union, in unison is used because of the context of choral singing. Loor: This word is rare enough you wont find it in smaller dictionaries. It means praise. Resonar: Resonar means to resound or, more poetically, to echo or to ring. Gran: Gran is an example of apocopation, the shortening or clipping of certain adjectives when they immediately precede a noun. Although some adjectives are shortened only before masculine nouns, the singular grande is shortened whether masculine or feminine. Its meaning also changes from large to great. La maldad vencida es: This is another case of poetic word order. In everyday speech, youd more likely say, La maldad es vencida, evil is overcome. This sentence is in the passive voice, not directly stating what overcomes evil. Bendicià ³n: Blessing (ben- good, -dicià ³n saying, from the verb decir). Quità ³: Past tense of quitar, to remove. Maldicià ³n: Curse (mal- bad) Seà ±or: Although this word is often used as a courtesy title meaning the equivalent of Mr., it can also mean Lord. La libertad tà º le dars: This and the remainder of the song is an example of personification. The pronoun le usually isnt used to refer to things, only to people. But here it refers to Israel, which has been personified. Le is an indirect pronoun; the direct pronoun here is libertad, that which is being given.

Sexual Harassment Scenario Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Sexual Harassment Scenario - Essay Example There is also the difference between the bodies of the male and the female. There are hormonal, mental, emotional as well as physical aspects which vary. Also, the side of the brain – whether left or right – a person uses counts. All these lead to the males and females having thoughts and feelings not quite similar. The accounts of many psychologists in the 1990’s state that gender identity and personality of a child emerges by the age of 3 years and it continues to gradually evolve by the influence of the outside world: parents, school, etc (Morris & Maisto, 2005). However, Collaer & Hines say that a child starts to develop its individuality in the womb and that is dependent on certain hormonal factors. Environment plays an important role throughout the stage in which the child continues to change (Morris & Maisto, 2005; Collaer & Hines, 1995). By the time a child enters school, he already has certain ideas in his head, which continue to grow or diminish depending on the worldly influences, so it is necessary that they are nurtured. We have certain concepts in mind as to how the boys are much better in Science and Mathematics so the teachers ask them the related questions and not the girls. On the other hand, if the topic is literary related, then the girls are encouraged to answer and the boys ignored. This automatically brings in a divide between the two. The school environment helps in making groups, the children being too young to understand what is going on and follow blindly. Later they realize that they could have pursued another subject altogether. On the other hand, this example is a misconception since it has been proven that there is no biological reason why only boys may be good at the subject, the girls have equal opportunity too and vice versa. Another misconception is that males who are interested

Pc Repair Documentation(Sample) Essay Example for Free

Pc Repair Documentation(Sample) Essay Ronels PC Repair lacks an accounting system, thus, profit or loss of the entity cannot be determined. The business is also often close because the owner usually attends home services. There is no business permit Objective of the Engagement To provide the best service available to the community at an affordable price and to have constant growth in sales by designing an accounting system best suited to the business so the operating performance is measured accurately. To help the owner in managing his business by hiring an apprentice To assist the owner in applying business license for his business operation Statement of Facts Personal Market Research by the owner indicates an attractive niche for the services of which PC Repair will take full advantage. The very nature of technological advancement, creates a constant need for businesses skilled in updating and advising customer on computer-related issues Our group has conducted an interview of the owner’s clientele; we’ve found out that 9 out of 10 customers are dissatisfied with other existing repair shop such as electronics repair shop, the one that’s nearest to the owner’s home office, considering the prices that they offer In addition, the owner stated that he will focus mainly on the small business market since the legality of its existence is still questionable since he hasnt applied for a business permit, and as these customer typically dont have a full-time IT person, but have full time IT needs Upon observation, there is no assistant employed to help him with the customers especially when he is not around. Moreover, customer are seeking skilled help with everything from installation of software and hardware components, to networking, to transferring files from an old computer to a new one, Findings and Conclusion Since there is no accounting system, determination of profit and loss are impossible because there is no recording of transaction especially for a proprietor who carries volume of transaction. It would be more convenient as a start up to use single entry method to record his transaction. In Single-entry bookkeeping transactions are recorded in registers with most transactions requiring only a single line to record the transaction. Marketing strategy will be implemented as well to promote the growth of the business and eventually hire an assistant to help the owner in managing the business and apply his business permit Recommendation: We recommend the use of Single-entry systems in the interest of simplicity. They are usually less expensive to maintain than double-entry systems because they do not require the services of a trained person. In addition, we will also recommend the owner to hire an assistant to help him; perhaps one of his apprentices before can be hired and to apply his business permit in the near future

rap Essays -- essays research papers

Rap Music The following is an excerpt from Black Noise, a book written by Tricia Rose, that describes the importance and background of rap music in society. "Rap music brings together a tangle of some of the most complex social, cultural, and political issues in contemporary American society. Rap's contradictory articulations are not signs of absent intellectual clarity; they are a common feature of community and popular cultural dialogues that always offer more than one cultural, social, or political viewpoint. These unusually abundant polyvocal conversations seem irrational when they are severed from the social contexts where everyday struggles over resources, pleasures, and meanings take place. "Rap music is a black cultural expression that prioritizes black voices from the margins of urban America. Rap music is a form of rhymed storytelling accompanied by highly rhythmic, electronically based music. It began in the mid-1970s in the South Bronx in New York City as a part of hip hop, and African-American and Afro-Caribbean youth culture composed of graffiti, breakdancing, and rap music. From the outset, rap music has articulated the pleasures and problems of black urban life in contemporary America. Rappers speak with the voice of personal experience, taking on the identity of the observer or narrator. Male rappers often speak from the perspective of a young man who wants social status in a locally meaningful way. They rap about how to avoid gang pressures and still earn local respect, how to deal with the loss of several friends to gun fights and drug overdoses, and they tell grandiose and sometimes violent tales that are powered by male sexual power over women. Female rappers sometimes tell stories from the perspective of a young woman who is skeptical of male protestations of love or a girl who has been involved with a drug dealer and cannot sever herself from his dangerous life-style. Some raps speak to failure of black men to provide security and attack men where their manhood seems most vulnerable: the pocket. Some tales are one sister telling another to rid herself from the abuse of a lover. "Like all contemporary voices, the rapper's voice is imbedded in powerful and dominant technological, industrial, and ideological institutions. Rappers tell long, involved, and sometimes abstract stories with catchy and memorable phrases ... ...e future of black culture in the postindustrial city and American culture in general. Its musical voice is achieved via the constant manipulation of high-tech equipment that will continue to have a profound effect on speech, writing, music, communication, and social relations as we approach the twenty-first century. "As Greg Tate warned, "hip hop might be bought and sold like gold, but the miners of its rich ore still represent a sleeping-giant constituency." Rappers and their young black constituency are the miners, they are the cultivators of communal artifacts, refining and developing the frameworks of alternative identities that draw on Afrodiasporic approaches to sound organization, rhyth, pleasures, style, and community. These cultivation processes are formally wedded to digital reproduction and life in an increasingly information-management-drivem society. Rap is a technologically sophisticated project in African-American recuperation and revision. African-American music and culture, inextricably tied to concrete historical and technological developments, have found yet another way to unnerve and simultaneously revitalize American culture" (183-185).

Bharati Mukherjee, American Dreamer Essay

The thing that is most significant about this title was that you have to realize the true essence of judging a person for being regular instead of judging someone by their handicap. The title’s significance seems to be a certain way of getting to know what the article may be about. The title itself gives off a sense of mystery being that the title is drawing the reader into actually finding out what this article is going to be about. It is like the author had wanted to make the title pop out to you and draw you in making you want to read about the article. Kind of like a cliffhanger in stories that draws the reader to want to read more about it. The author’s purpose of this article is to try to inform readers about his/her personal idea and opinion. The author may be trying to inform readers about what has gone in a certain situation and what has also been done about the current situation. The author is informing readers about a certain technique that the British police have used to interrogate people. Mainly trying to determine whether people are actually lying in these interrogations. The author says that the United States will be the next to learn the techniques. My own personal experience would be how I try to determine whether someone is lying to me. I always want to know if there are people who will lie instead of just telling the truth in the end. I have realized that people will lie about any type of thing just to get whatever they want in life. I honestly can’t agree with people who will lie. I respect everything that the British has done by developing this certain technique.

IEP Math Goals for Pre-school

IEP Math Goals for Pre-school The preschool standards aligned to the Common Core State Standards don’t take up geometry or operations- those are held over for Kindergarten.  At this point, the object is to build number sense.  The counting and cardinality skills focus on â€Å"how many.†Ã‚  These focus on â€Å"how much† as in volume and as well as â€Å"how big, or small, or tall, or short, or other attributes of plane figures, as well as volume.  Still, by pairing geometric shapes with colors and size, you will begin to build skills.   When writing IEP Goals for functions and algebra, you will focus on the attributes of shapes for sorting.  This early skill will help students build other skills in sorting, categorizing and finally in geometry.   Of course, to successfully sort for color, shape, and size, it is important to have the shapes in different sizes.  Many math programs come with the same size shapes- look for an older set (wooden) which are generally smaller than the plastic geometric shapes.   2.PK.1 Sort objects by similar attributes (e.g., size, shape, and color).2.PK.3 Compare sets of objects. Determine which set has more or less. The first and third standards could be combined in a single goal because they call on students to sort and compare, skills that require students to assign certain attributes and order items.  The sorting activities are great for young children who have not yet developed language, as they begin to notice the color, shape or size of the things that they sort. Goal:   By annual review date SAMMY STUDENT will sort and compare colored geometric shapes by color, size, and shape, correctly sorting 18 of 20 (90%) in three consecutive trials as instituted by the special education teacher and teaching staff. This would have four benchmarks: Objective 1:  By the end of the first semester of the ______ year, SAMMY STUDENT will sort geometric shapes by color with 80% accuracy as measured by the special education teacher and teaching staff. Objective 2:  By the end of the third quarter of the ____ year, SAMMY STUDENT will sort geometric shapes by shape with 80% accuracy as measured by the special education teacher and teaching staff. Objective 3:  By the end of the second semester of the ______ year, SAMMY STUDENT will sort geometric shapes by size with 80% accuracy as measured by the special education teacher and teaching staff. Objective 4:  By annual review date, SAMMY STUDENTS will sort geometric shapes and compare groups for more or less, with 90% accuracy as measured by the special education teacher and teaching staff.   Instructional Strategy: To begin students sorting, start with two:  two colors, two sizes, two shapes.  Once the students have mastered two, you can move them on to three.   When you begin with colors, use plates of the same color.  Over time they will know that orange is orange.   When you move on to shape names, be sure you talk about the characteristics of the shape:  a square has four sides and four square angles (or corners.  Some Math curricula talk about â€Å"corners† before they introduce â€Å"angles.†)  Triangles have three sides, etc.  When students are sorting, they are at the very first level.  In early intervention, pre-kindergarten you focus is going to be on building vocabulary, not the ability to name all the attributes of plane figures. Once you are started to expand the student’s repertoire, you need to introduce two attributes, as well as comparing small sets for â€Å"more† or â€Å"less.† Patterns The rule for patterns is they have to reappear three times to be a pattern.  The geometric shapes above, beads or counters of any kind can be used to demonstrate and then replicate patterns.  This is an activity that you can create with pattern cards that the students can replicate, first on the card with a template for placing the shapes, and then just a card with the shapes.  These can also be purchased   2.PK.2 Recognize and replicate simple patterns (e.g., ABAB.) Goal:  Ã‚  By annual review date, when presented with a pattern with three repeats, PENNY PUPIL will accurately replicate the pattern in 9 out of 10 trials. Objective 1:  By the first semester of the _______ school year, PENNY PUPIL will replicate bead patterns (A,B,A,B,A,B)  as represented in a picture presentation on a template, 8 of 10 probes as implemented by the special education teacher and teaching staff. Objective 2:  By annual review date, PENNY PUPIL will replicate a bead pattern from a picture, extending A,B to A,B,A,B,A,B, 8 of 10 proves as implemented by the special education teacher and the teaching staff.    Instructional Strategy:   Begin modeling patterns with blocks on a table.  Place the pattern, ask the student to name the pattern (color) and then have them replicate the pattern in a row closer to them.Introduce the pattern cards with the colored blocks (beads) pictured, and places to place each block below (a model template.)Once the student is able to replicate the card, have them replicate cards without a template.

CAN CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT AS A MARKETING STRATEGY CAN LEAD Essay

CAN CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT AS A MARKETING STRATEGY CAN LEAD AIRLINES COMPANY IN UK TO SUCCESS - Essay Example As per Federal Aviation â€Å"the basic concepts and ideology that make CRM successful with aviation air crews have also proven successful with other related career fields. Several commercial aviation firms, as well as international aviation safety agencies, began expanding CRM into air traffic control, aircraft design, and aircraft maintenance in the 1990s specifically, the aircraft maintenance section of this training expansion gained traction as Maintenance Resource Management† (2000). The deeper the affiliation the airline holds with these customers, the more opportunities there will be for advertising supplementary harvest and services. However, with the appearance of e-business and the innovative economy, the challenges of building physically powerful consumer interaction have become even bigger (Jiang , 2007). Airlines strive to expand market share and maintain productivity recently to meet challenges of aggressive environment, they ought to handle their customer relationships to maximize customer reliability and income (Boland, 2002). Burgoon stated that â€Å"Pilots and flight attendants need to understand the basic psychology of group dynamics and the positive effect that pre-flight briefings can have between groups. Many pilots and flight attendants may have never worked together before and yet both of these groups tend to remain isolated before, during, and after a flight. Some captains are better with an introduction and a briefing than others. But overall, there tends to be a "chill in the air" during pre-flight routines. The importance of an introduction and briefing cannot be overstated; a simple handshake or congenial gesture may be all that is required to build trust and camaraderie† (Burgoon, 1991). Necessitate to magnetize, gain, influence, and preserve customers is still of crucial anxiety to most businesses. Several studies manuscript that the middling company

Reviewing of articles Literature review Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Reviewing of articles - Literature review Example Adoption of new or modified accounting control can have meaningful changes on organizational strategies and the general perception of organizational purpose (Ahrens, T. & Mollona, M. 2007, 306). Addressing the cultural dimension of organizational control technologies is key just like the practices that engage technologies. The study of control as a cultural practice lies in exploring relationships between the diverse aspects of organizing. This includes work processes and their technologies, organizational members’ values, beliefs and social relationships. The cultural analysis aims at clarifying the sources of ambitions of the organizational members and how they are shared in competition with each other. It also evaluate their contributions in making the practices unfit or subjective to technical discussions and struggles over organizational purpose (Ahrens, T. & Mollona, M. 2007, 312). Comparative account of organizational subcultures, based on detailed observations of activities and how they consist of specific practices helps to shed more light. It involves the adoption of anthropological approaches to the study of organizational control. This entails the study of how management strategies and production strategies affect the control practices of different organizational subcultures. It also digs deep into determining how the social relations between organizational members and their social backgrounds can give rise to different cultural practices of control. Adoption of the anthropological method in the study of culture is a useful tool for producing longitudinal observations of everyday operations through which the study of accounting and control is studied.
